Mounting Orchids Above An Aquarium
Hi! I'm in the process of setting up a 75 gal aquarium which will be run open top. The décor will consist mostly of driftwood, and the tank is for fish which require extremely soft water so only rain water or RO will be used. Tank will be unheated, and room temp will vary from mid 70s daytime to as low as 65F in the winter and as warm as 82F daytime dropping into the mid 70s at night in the summer. Lighting isn't set, but T5HOor LEDs are options. The fish I'm keeping don't particularly like bright light, but I can work around that with floating plants if need be. I was thinking about growing orchids on areas of driftwood which stick out of the aquarium. I know a good bit about keeping fish, but next to nothing about growing orchids. First off is this feasible plan as far as the orchids are concerned? If so any suggestions of suitable orchids or any input, tips etc will be greatly appreciated. TIA!
