Default My first Phal I mounted in August 2012

Last August 2012,I made my first attempt at mounting a Phal. When I mounted it, it had very few roots, and three leaves.
Now,seven months later it has the original plant and it has 2 basal keikis with 3 blooming spikes. It is mounted on a piece of red cedar. the flowers are beautiful.
I also mounted 2 others to my dogwood tree about the same time last year.

Good job. I put three phals on mounts recently but only one has grown any roots. I hope mine do as well as yours.

Thanks I really enjoyed watching it take root to the cedar. Amazing how each keiki produced a spike along with it's parent plant.

Hi Tucker,
same thing with the 2 I mounted to the dogwood tree. As you can see the one has amazing roots attached to the branch, yet the other one, wich was mounted at the same time, has no roots attached.Still hoping that one will soon grow and attach some roots

Hi Orchidsarefun,
I have the mount facing east in my screen room.
All my orchids seem to enjoy the sun they receive in the early morning.
