I choose my mounts dependent on the species since they all get the same watering. Species that like lots of water get treefern mounts with lots of live moss on top, intermediate species get cork with moss or treefern with less moss and species that grow drier get hard wood timber planks(usually hardwood floorboard pieces)

I have some cork available, I think I'll use that. I'll probably hang it on my wall from a hook sticking out under the T5 lights.

P.S. It's really surprising how fast you run out of room for your orchids!

Yes, very much so, especially in the early to mid evening hours, when it puts off a nice citrusy scent (to me it smells very similar to Lemon Pledge furniture polish, but "citrusy" sounded a little more complimentary :-). And, in spite of its Central American origins, in my experience it's both tolerant of lower humidity levels and likes to dry out thoroughly between waterings. I grow them in pots for convenience; however, I've seen numerous growers on here who have their plants mounted, and they really seem to thrive when they're grown that way. RF Orchids has them on mounts, if you're interested.

I've got it mounted onto the cork now and I have to say, it looks really nice.
