That Phal is impressive! That's how they should ALL be grown, but only a few are lucky enough to have such an ideal climate. So many spikes too, it must have been quite a sight in bloom.

I took these pictures at a park in central Taiwan. The climate is different from where i am located and it is quite suitable for these tropical orchids to grow outdoors.

So I gues that orchids on trees must be a pretty common sight around there!

In south Taiwan, it is not uncommon to see orchids grown in the trees. It is the natural way to grow them and the plants look healthier than grown in pots.

Up until about four months ago, I was having huge rot issues, and I finally took the plunge and mounted everything that wasn't doing well.
Now four months later, this is my Iwanagara Apple Blossom, which was doing the second worst out of the whole batch. The shriveled up bulbs show just how unhappy it had been before--the new fat bulb grew in the time since the plant was mounted, and looks like it's about to give me a bloom!
