Default Can I mount my scaphosepalum microdactylum?

I have a scapho that's crawling out of its pot. Apparently they tend to do that so was wondering about mounting it instead. I have it in a small tank above glass beads/water and turn on a little fogger a couple of times a day. It's been happy and just recently bloomed. So, if I just mount it and keep it in the same conditions, will it do okay? And, does it matter if its on wood or tree fern?

It will grow well mounted, in worse conditions than you have. Doesn't matter what you use, although tree fern will probably last a bit longer.

Might I suggest, however, that you mount the piece that is crawling out of the pot, and leave the rest where it is? You've already figured out how to grow it in a pot, I wouldn't risk the whole plant on the mounting experiment. Another option is to not even detach the cutting, just let it root onto a mount placed next to the pot, and then at some future point separate the two.
