Default Supplies for Mounting Orchids........

I have two potted Orchids arriving next week that I want to mount. I can find the Cork bark, and I have fishing-line, and spaghnum moss, but where do you find the WIRE to put into the cork to hang the mount?
Is this something you can just buy at a Home Depot type of store ? What type of wire is it?

12 or 14 gauge, galvanized wire has worked well for me. Ive always been able to find it at any home-improvement store.

I also use pieces of coat hanger. I don't think the type of wire matters, as long as it doesn't rust.

Default i use.........

i use a good ol' wire coat hanger and the cutter that is on a regular pair of needle nose pliers......voila instant hanger and a good way to recycle an old coat hangar to boot, you can get several from one coat hanger........just my two cents.....(adjusted for inflation of course LOL)..........t

Sorry I missed this thread last month. I bought the long pieces of wire from HD that is sold for drop ceilings. Made a deal with them for the loose, kind of bent ones...got a great price. I cut it the length I need for all my mounts, stakes too. It's great to use for hanging my vandas also. No basket and less space taken up hanging them. Just turn the bottom up and attach cable zip ties to hold in place and bend the top for hanging. Voila!
