I just had a 40 year old choke cherry blow over in the wind. I can cut all kinds of bark slabs and cross sections from that. My question is will this be good for growing on? Does anyone have experience and / or words of wisdom for growing on choke cherry?
Cherry is great wood, but I'm not so sure about mounting with it. It's fairly rich in soluble compounds. You may want to soak it for a while prior to using it. I'd use the small bits for barbeque, maybe you can get the big stuff milled, make some shelves or something. Such great wood, you're lucky to have it!!
