not very fast, it doesn't hardly have roots to take up nutrition, so it's a good thing that it had so many leaves to start with.
The nubs have been visible for more than a week, but haven't pushed forward much.

How about mount them temporarily and then dismount them before the roots start attaching to the mount?

That's an idea. I won't be able to get a mount until the first week of October. So far, it isn't going downhill so fast that I'm terribly worried. I think it might get put into a rubbermaid tub with the lid cracked to get the humidity up.

A pot full of bark is very similar to a mount, and visa versa. It will keep humidity high in the root zone but will not get soggy. I'm just sayin'. You might be over thinking this a tad.

That's another good point..... I have some soaking.... I'll have to try to look into P. aphrodite's climate again to see if that gives me more ideas.....
