Thanks JB. Yeah I had a lead which I broke off even though I was being careful. Mine is also on the edge of a Gumbo Limbos' canopy. I will probably move it into the pool area by next weekend.
Leads? I'm not sure what those are. It's done blooming for the year I presume. They all look shriveled but overall I think it looks really healthy, like the roots and leaves, their color and all. I had a picture in here somewhere when I got it I will look and see what the bulbs looked like then.
Here it is although not a clear picture of the bulbs http://www.orchidboard.com/community...hpnilm7apm.jpg
Swamper, those bulbs look fine to me. If they are getting too much sun the bulbs will look a little rosey. If they are with your vandas care for them the same. Hot..more water, cool..less water.

I think this is a plant that is shy in growing masses of roots. I have grown it several ways, in pot, mounted on tree fern, mounted on a plaque with sphagnum and mounted on cork with no other media. The best results that I got were cork mounted with nothing else. I also grew it on the dry side, about three waterings per week and remember the dry winter rest needed for flowering.
I got a good size one from a friend about 5 years ago and it was on a small piece of fern, I attached it to a larger cork slab and it has rooted very well and always grows and blloms for me. From Mar. till Oct. grows in greenhouse up high and gets well watered, the rest of the year she is outside under an area that gets about 5 hours of direct sun and no rain, I let it go completly dry for the winter months, this helps to set spikes. Our nights in this area of California can get into the low 20's once in awhile and the plant does not seem to mind it.
