Word to the wise, they need a winter rest. Little to no water in the cooler months to bloom in spring.

I seem to remember Den. aggregatum having a really distinct "growing fast" period followed by a long "not doing much of anything" period... It'll do fine on tree fern. Or driftwood. Or a big chunk of grapevine. Or cork. Keep it watered well enough to prevent it from wrinkling up. Once it starts growing actively (green root tips, etc), step up the watering and it'll grab onto the mount. Beautiful species!

Joe, just keep in mind if watering more often, to use a fungicide, up to and then stop watering in starts cooling later in the year.
I have a couple of plants that didn't flower this year because of the rainy winter we had.

Thanks Brady, I'll keep that in mind. Any advice for the wrinkly bulbs?

My current season bulbs are plump, the older ones stay wrinkled. They wrinkle more with age.
I seem to remember reading somewhere that they should look like dried dates.

Maureen that's a good description. So I guess I don't have to worry about that?

Has your plant started any new leads? If so, those new bulbs should stay plump while you are watering. Old ones never do completely.
When you start to cut back on the water this fall/winter all the bulbs will shrivel. I usually give mine a little water during that time if they get too wrinkled.
Come early spring, look for spikes and start the watering again.

Leads? I'm not sure what those are. It's done blooming for the year I presume. They all look shriveled but overall I think it looks really healthy, like the roots and leaves, their color and all. I had a picture in here somewhere when I got it I will look and see what the bulbs looked like then.
Here it is although not a clear picture of the bulbs

Ok a lead is a new growth nothing more....got any new eyes active and growing at all then you have new leads.I bought a den aggeratum at Lowes on June the 19 a bag babie and did not expect much this summer but it popped out two new leads a couple weeks ago and they are now both maturing new Pbs fast ...this thing does grow quick when it is active.
I water every day usually by just spraying it with my orchids plus fert mix mbut once a week I drench it good too.I am being a little cautious on how much light still but it is getting full sun for a few mins at a time several times a day since its under the very edge of a tree and that limb lets dappled light through and as the sun moves it lets it get full sun every once oin a while for hmmm 5 or 10 mins at a time..
