Most of my driftwood has salt water origins so it gets many, many, many fresh water soaks. It finally gets a taste test from me and if it's still salty it soaks some more.

Lol. Junebug may be right about that. I haven't done it myself but it is logical.

I would soak it and rinse a couple times after the bleach treatment ..or let it sit a few days and really dry out before use them soak it in fresh water again before using

Don't want to stick a spanner in the works but.... Here it comes....

Warning About Bleach!
Bleach will destroy organic matter, whether it be the skin or wood.
If using bleach, make sure it is dilute (Very dilute) and do not leave the drift wood in it for too long. Otherwise you may end up finding it crumbles away or just doesn't have the life expectancy required.

Other methods of cleaning Drift-Wood before the Final Cleaning rinse include:
~ Leaving it in you back yard for up to a year (Depending on rainfall and type of wood)
~ Taking it into the Bath/Shower with you over a number of times.

at first, i didnt have anything to mount to it. but now i have a phal. hieroglyphica seedling, and a cattleya intermedia var. orlata seedling. so maybe one of them will get mounted. but, does anyone know how either one will do inside on a mount? i already have other mounts that will end up inside, but do you think either one of these will be ok?
