I mounted three phals a week ago and they are going to need a feeding. How should I feed them? I'm currently experimenting with watering by spraying two of the phals once a day and one once everyother day. Could I add a low ferterlizer in the spray bottle? What would be considered a low fertilizer, 10-10-10 or something?
Help needed and appreciated!
I water and feed my mounted orchids by soaking the roots. You can submerge the mount (be careful not to include the phal crown) or pour it over the roots.
I personally don't think spraying gives enough liquid because the plants seem to do better when the mount material is damp too. The roots grab hold of it better.
I water daily. Phals don't like to dry completely. I feed once a week with a balanced (10-10-10 or 20-20-20) mixed weakly.
Just picked up some plant food from Lowes. The garden shop is much further so Lowes seemed like the best bet. The closest I could find to the suggested numbers were 10-15-10. I am going to reread what the numbers mean then use it on my orchids, possibly Sunday. Thank you for your help.
