on coconut husks
so this is my south facing bedroom window.
I mounted 2 one dollar phals rescued from lowes on coconut husks.
tehy had poor roots and just 2 leaves.
in teh beginning i did not water tehm enough.
I misted a lot but i think I have to dip tehm in a jar of water for a few minutes.I see new roots eyes and new leaves forming. it was like they were in a concentration camp but now it is like they are gaining weight and shape.
so the Vanda tricolor I got thru orchidboard i put it on top of a husk as well. in a different way. so i dont risk breaking the roots by clumsily opening the window.
wonder when something like this could bloom.
And a Den loddigesii keiki i received on another coconut. seems ok [added spagnum to keep it more moist till it develops roots]
put another keiki of the same plant in a small vase/ water culture seems like it is putting out roots fast.
since i had 5 keikis I will keep one in water and see.
another in SH.
