I've always love your driftwood pics. Thanks for the update. I'm always on the lookout for driftwood. I only find too small or way too large.

A friend was going to take me to check out the nurseries on Krome Ave. Never got the chance..found this one first. If you are in the area you might stop in a couple and ask what they have around. This one had been sitting against a local nursery building for quite a while before I found it. I only made 2 cuts and wired one piece (odd root) in place and the other is the extra tall tree stump piece that would have been wasted..now it's the anchor keeping the whole piece in place.

Both nurseries where I found my driftwood the sales person looked at me like I grew 2 heads. They would be surprised now what they have become. I think I'll take one of the pictures with me and show the girls next time I go by.

Hi Lorraine,
I'm in Massachusetts so I don't think I'll get by anytime soon! I can get lots of ocean driftwood when I go to the New Hampshire shore in the summer. Maybe next summer I'll take my inspiration from you.

I saw another pretty huge piece this weekend at R.F. Orchids, maybe I'll post a pic soon. It looks more like a tree, I don't think it would drift at all LOL.

Here it is. It's hollow on the other side. I really need to shoot the other side so you can appreciate it.

Can you imagine all the orchids that could go on that?

Now that's a big guy Swamper! Lots of possibilities. Chids are going to love their new home. You can really make it a centerpiece in the garden and have some interesting accent plantings going on around it. I have some bamboo orchids and some ground orchids nearby and the shade from a palm tree. I think you'll have fun. Did you get it from RF or are you still thinking about it?
