Ok, well to start out i collect alot of driftwood, and have found some pretty interesting pieces. This is actually the largest and most recent find. I am planning on letting moss cover the sphagnum moss a little, just until i get some cool orchids over the internet. It will hold mainly miniature bulbophyllums and some mini ferns and carnivorous plants.

Heres some pics, before a really long wait until the moss takes over. I have collected 3 different types of mosses around my town.

This is an overall look of the piece of driftwood bare.

Covered by Sphagnum moss, fir bark, and twine to hold it down till moss and eventually roots take care of that...

I plan on having this mound against a wall on a porch or something so that it doesn't get sun really.

I will also have lithophytic ferns and other plants crawling up the neck of the piece to give it somemore green up top.

that's gigantic! my cats would love it as much as i do! i'll plant stuff there and suddenly its a great scratching post

Lol, yeah i hope my roommates dont have any cats or anything, plus i hope they'll let me keep it outside, i probably going to have to put it in my room or something because it'll be winter soon.

i know that there are recipes to get moss grow faster, but forget how to do it... anyway, i think they should grow naturally since you're going to plant sensitive plants.
