Epiweb as an orchid mounting material. Disadvantages? Male

hmm. I guess my question is just about the hypothetical situation if I ever wanted to give the plant more room to grow. For instance...my lepanthes is like 1 inch or lesser in diameter. Now If I mount it on a 4 inch square and 2 yrs from now it compeltely grows all over it....it will be root bound preventing it from growing more. Thats my concern. Can I at that time give it a new piece of epiweb or anything else to let it stretch itself more?

The answer to your question was given in earlier posts. If you have the plant on a 4 inch piece and it outgrows it, then you simply attach everything to a larger piece of epiweb. The roots will then spread into the larger piece.

yeah! true! But what if u actually wanted to split that portion of the plant? I don't know how lepanthes can be vegetatively propogated...but these are just things I am wondering about. I am planning on ordering some cork bark though....so I might just go with that...just becos its more natural looking.

Just cut the epiweb in two half where you want to divide your plant and attach a new shaped piece of epiweb on each half!

I second the above discussion, Epiweb is great for my purpose!

If you didnt want to use epiweb couldn't you just use a green pad like you scrubb sinks with. IT looks the same other then the color and cheaper
