I want to be sure all is working well and take it a step at a time. . .I agree we should start slow.

Once I know what conditions are created, then I'll start thinking about adding orchids.

Just an update to my nanoviv project . Some nice green moss is starting to grow :)

Lepanthes telipogoniflora (a gift from a dear friend ) is feeling great and even managed to flower

On 15 October I started a new nanoviv project - this time I mounted 3 telipogons . They all are feeling great so far and 2 of them even have new spikes :)

I love your Lepanthes telipogoniflora! That is to cute! I can't wait to see your new nanoviv project as well!

Hey Jesse, I was just looking at your website but saw this thread here tonight. Can you make those skeeter sticks longer and thicker? I wanted to mount larger orchids outside and as I live in Florida, I really don't want standing water all over the place. Thanks!!

How far down do you normally mount the orchid? towards the bottom? middle or top? thanks in advance and I hope you take custom orders!!

Mounting the orchids depends on you and the orchid. Higher on the mount is dryer and lower wetter. It will stay fairly consistent until the water level gets past half full, then the top of the mount will enjoy a "dryer" available moisture, and may dry out when facilitated by air movement.

Hey gmdiaz, here is your Big mount! I'm water testing it now but will have it packed to go out today.

Here's the photo of the smaller mount I made a grenade out of because I rushed and didn't allow enough dry time.

Why did you decide that the proper orchids are phals, catts and dendrobiums - as far as I know no one grows these three on ceramic tubes ... usualy mini species are used for such projects .
