I'll ask Vic about the pricing based on a quantity of 20 of em. . .and let you know.

And yes, I do want to experiement with the swamp stick. . .

Gwen, right now my house is in complete shambles because of construction. How can adding a room disrupt an entire house I have yet to learn. My kitchen table is now home to 35 'chids and I can't find the washer and dryer and I know I have counter tops somewhere!
The terriarium I set up is strictly an experiment. All these years and everything I've tried and had (plants/animals/aqauariums etc.) I've never tried a terrarium before and I love the mini ferns as well as 'chids.
Will get a pic sometime when I find it again.
Al

Thanks so much for the clarification on the pipes and the wine chillers! That's helps a lot!!! So what I am looking to find or have made is just unglazed terracotta. . .hmmmm, .

It's sooo cool that you've started one too! I would love love love to see photos and to hear about how it's working for you.

Are you trying one of the terracotta drainage pipes then?

Are you finding that he unglazed terracotta seaps moisture to the outside, in the just right quantity?

Do tell. . .

Hi

You need to find non glazed terracotta but, at least in Sweden, there is sometimes a wax-treatment that make terracotta waterproof . There are smaller tubes of a white ceramic that is sold in Europe that works great

Yes I have one of the drainage pipe but no pictures jet. I will though make sure to take some during the development of my project.

One problem with the drainage pipe that is not mentioned to often is that a lot of them leak TO much and is of no use. The water should just penetrate and form small drops on the outside. My experience is that most of this pipes leaks to much and only some of them can be used.

If I take an ordinary terracotta pot and seal the drainage hole and fill it with water it leaks to slow in general. Modern Terracotta pots seems to be burned to hot to make them porous enough.

I will try to take some pictures soon.

/Magnus
