I don't see why it wouldn't be. There are wild orchids growing on cypress here(in the everglades and fakahatchee) all the time. I can't help feel bad about the cutting down of that tree though. Im sure you had good reason. Right???
You can cut pieces into all different shapes and sizes. I bet you can even sell some. I also think it may be one of the longer lasting type mounts made from real wood. Good luck.
the sphagnum was already soaked and the orchids were out of there pots ready to be mounted anyway. i have the unused cork now! i will have mounted orchids up tp my chin!
