This is so cute! I can definitely relate haha. At first it was "oh maybe I could try out houseplants! that could be a fun little hobby," and before I knew it there were seven grow lights, a smart humidifier, an air circulator, a microsyringe to dose out nutrients and a pH/TDS meter to titrate them, etc etc etc etc. It's easy to enjoy getting a little carried away when the hobby quite literally grows and gives back to you in real time—there's not a lot of other stuff quite like it!

also- Depending on how large this C. intermedia decides to grow. Mounting might not be the best choice for indoor growing.

When I have a plant outgrow the mount, I either mount it on a larger mount, or drop the mounted plant into a basket, mount and all. Just go with the flow. (C. intermedia doesn't get all that big, lives up to its name) But it will probably stay under 12 inches in height, how much it spreads depends on how happy it is.

I did the same when I grew in a Greenhouse. But since I am under lights now. I like everything to be as contained as much as I can. Room is precious these days lol.

That's why I am now gravitating toward miniatures. Out of room, but there's always space for the little ones that stay little. Always room for one more orchid...

Yeah I figured that any potential size concerns would be quite a ways away at this point, and if need be I can get some large panels to attach the current mount to and act as an extension. An online supplier I really like (link here) has some cool options for extra large cork boards and tree fern panels (available here), so I could even go up to 18"×36"! Those panels are just flat rectangles, so it'd be pretty straightforward to attach a backing to protect the wall and then hang it all up with heavy-duty command strips or something
