Great Tipp for attaching mounts to a window pane
So i just wanted to give a quick tipp to those who might want to attach a Mount to one of their Windows directly.
I had to figure something out to Mount my mounts directly to the window Panes as no other Space was available.
So i though about it and found a Solution, what i did is i bought some magnetic smoke Alarm attachment Pads for attaching smoke Alarms to the Celling which are fixed to the celling and the smoke Alarm using adhesive Pads.
The way this work is as follows, it sticks with adhesive Pads, one adhesive Pad has a Metal Plate on top of it, and a second one has a nother Plate and two Magnets, you now glue one of the Pads to the Glas and the one with the Magnets to the back of the Mount.
And there you go, easy (AND given the Pads are smaler than Even Little mounts AND super flat) invisible way to attach the orchids to the window and Take them of Anny time you wan‘t without Anny struggle, you can Even rotate them in case you want to.
If you want to remove the Pads from your window some rubbing Alkohol and a Bit of scrubbing will do.
I have used it for months, it has gotten very very wet on multiple occasions and it did Not Budge Even a Little, i only have very small orchids mounted this way but if you used multiple you could Even Mount the biggest of orchids i think.
So that’s all, just wanted to get this Info out there in case someone is Racing the Same Problem i once did.

Interesting idea! Thanks for sharing. Does the package for the magnetic attachment pads list a maximum weight that the product can support?

Mine do Not List a weight, i do however have a nice Size Epidendrum porpax mounted on one and it doesn’t have an issue with it, from experience ripping one of those pds of with pure strenght can Need enough strengt to Break Glass (once Glued a Vase to a Surface with souch a glue Pad and literally ripped the Glas in half bevore the glue gave).
I Found one seller that sells souch a Pad from a different Manufacturer with 900G (2 Pounds) As Max weight for a 70mm (2,75inch) diameter Pad.
Also nothing would stop you from using two Pads or more on a bigger Mount or just use Magnets you attach yourself so there really is no Limit. But Magnets in that size can be pretty strong so id be very carefull with Magnets you buy yourself or you might end up Breaking your window or badly hurting your Finger by smashing the Mount on there to Hard.
I use Mine on a Natural Mount, as the material is porous and dusty the glue won’t Stick well to it, but if you put a Bit of superglue on the pad before you press it on the Mount Material there will be 0 Problems with it sticking.
On the Glass ist sticks insanely well annyways.

Don’t overlook “alien tape”. It’s a super-sticky polymer, not a glue.
For sticking to hard surfaces, it’s amazing, waterproof, and peels off when you don’t need it anymore.

Thats also a good idea, but i specifically wanted something that allowed me to remove and re attach the Mount to the Glas Ultra quick and as manny times as i wanted without destroying annything.
So the Magnets were my go to. Plus i actually needed something that hat a certain thickness as on the back of my mounts there are Little Metall hooks that i can‘t remove and that would Block you from using a thin tape.

The “alien tape” can be peeled off and reattached any number of times without affecting the glass. If it gets dirty, wash it and the tackiness returns.
I don’t have any in use right now, but I bought some lightweight aluminum angle and strip at my local Lowes, so just cut or bent “L”-shaped brackets and drilled a hole in the horizontal part. The tape sticks well to the glass and the aluminum, it can be easily peeled.

Would the tape Stick to a porous Surface like the pressend Cork i use for my mounts? If it did than this would also be a good Solution for attaching mounts that arent flat Surfaced
