Question Mounting on a small hollow sculpture? (gulp!)

This may sound crazy, but what orchid could you mount on a sculpture.....it is a small stone elephant (sorry, we just bought it, no pics today) but my BF really wants to mount something on it. It is quite heavy but approx 8 in high, 6 in wide and 3 in deep. What could possibly be mounted on it? We live in L, and grow indoors. we are vigilant about keeping our mounts hydrated. Our vanda is doing great in a glass vase (we soak twice a day) but we weren't sure what species could mount in this sculpture.....it has LOTs of holes, as it is a hollow soapstone figurine. Any thoughts?

You could mount just about any mini on there!

A friend if mine had a large piece of soapstone, about a foot wide x 6 inches deep x about 6 inches tall. It also had lots of little nooks and crannies and he mounted a bunch of different minis on it, making sure that they were all within the same cultural needs like lighting and temperature.

I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with it

With yours being taller rather than wide, maybe look for something that will cascade for the top portion?

what about mounting a red jewel cattelya slc hybrid on the sculpture.....too much plant? it would cascade horizontally along hte elephants back. (the leaves just SO go with the sculpture...we're OAD geeks)....we were thinking of putting a pedestal under it if the root branched too far and treating it like any mount (and ps....did your friend put any potting media *inside* the sculpture? and another PS I WILL post pics ASAP! thanks for your help Susanne.

How tall would the plant you're thinking of eventually get to be? I'm thinking it should be something that will stay short or it will look unbalanced when it grows up.
