Wow! What a great setup. I like the natural look you made. You've got the green thumb for sure. Nice job on the greenhouse.
I've been mounting a number of my chids on cork slabs, driftwood and grape vine wood and they seem to like it. I just spend more time watering them each day since they dry out faster. Do you have an automatic irrigation system set up??

The exact location of Faeryland Sithen is a well kept secret. But its were all of us (the Fey) live and garden. As the head of a small clan of Faeries, I have a few pixies in the garden to help keep out unwanted influences like rabbits, armadillos, and wild boar. (see photo of pixie at end of message)
This greenhouse is a large structure, slightly over 1700 square feet. It has a 20 foot ceiling. It's a "secret garden" in the respect that it looks very plain and utilitarian from the outside (it's a steel frame construction with no foundation, the glazing is single thickness corrugated Lexan). But its outdoor plainness is contrived to make the casual passerby believe that there's nothing of real value inside. Maybe just some potted plants and a non-hardy few trees? But in truth, its filled with a ton of stuff, some of it quite rare. So looks are deceiving.
Thank you all for your very kind words. I built this almost 6 years ago and have been tweaking it ever since. Its undergone many interior changes.
I am about to begin construction on a large water feature, that is the spring project for me and the pixies. I t will be a pondless waterfall backed by a drip wall for mounting bromeliads, orchids, ferns, and other epiphytes. Its still in the final planning stages.

It's a beautiful and rare space you've created. All the plants you've grown look amazing: healthy & so happy.
You know, if you put a hammock in there and left a wee breakfast bag outside the door each morning, you could charge & get, bed and breakfast prices.
I love it! I love the size & scale. I love the large plants and the little bitty ones. . .that is one great and very successful greenhouse.

Snow? WHat's that?
No, we don;t get snow, LOL. I think the lowest temp on record here for this place, ever, was 10 degrees sometime a long time ago. Some of the outlying areas outside in the country farther than where I live pretty routinely get to the high teens-low 20's, but 20-22 is about the lowest we ever go. It was 20 one night this winter, otherwise the lowest temp was 27 for one night.
Its actually much more of a challenge to COOL the greenhouse in summer when its 90+ outside than it is to heat it in winter.
Its a lot of fun to have, and to play with, but there are less glamorous sides to it too, like maintenance....I have about a day's worth of work left for the annual pressure cleaning of the walls, then I need to trim. prune, deadhead and spiff. Finally, at the end of this month, it will be time to move all the winter freeloaders back out to the yard so the real fun can begin!!!!! (My pondless waterfall project!)

Let me guess, Faeryland Sithen is south of Moonwood, North of Everlund, approachable only by wading through the Evermoors... am I close? Some of my most favorite elf friends come from Moonwood. Although I have a good friend from Mithrill Hall who is called King Bruenor. They are in serious trouble right now from the Orcs but Drizzt and his friends are there to help so I am sure all will be well.
