getting the header up was tough, I am NOT GOOD ON HIGH THINGS, but my partner in crime saw me through the project. we dug a small trench after that for the kneewall. today, we put a bit of gravel on the bottom of the trench, then laid the block, dry stacked, to form the wall. USE A LEVEL FOR THIS! lol...we put some rebar into the wall, pounded them down with a sledge, then filled in around them with dry sakret cement. we drilled a 2 x 6 x 16 with holes to fit where the rebar stuck out of the wall, and popped it on. then we filled the holes up with water a couple times and pounded that 2 x 6 down firmly on the top. it set up nice this afternoon. and we are ready to put up the wall on the kneewall. and fix that with rafters....geriatric builders at it again!

I dream of one one day. When I actually own a piece of land and not some shares of an apartment building.
But I would never dream of building one myself, bless you madam!

I was planning to build this one last fall, so I ordered most all the equipment and polycarbonate then....its been sitting in the shed! oh well, I hope it goes smooth!

Looking great! Ever thought of hiring out you and your partner in crime? Want to come to Ohio?

yes, year-round....here in the top of texas, everything is hard, from the water to the work! rafters are 2' on center of 2x6 cedar. 4x4 cedar posts on corners and 'every other one' on the sides. the way I build, the house will fly away before my structures, lol....natural gas heat, and RO watering system planned. 8mm twinwall polycarbonate...it should do fine....evap cooler for the heat...it will be outside my bedroom door, ahhhh!
