Here comes the heat Male
Default

With my evaporative cooler my temperatures are close to 80 F / 22C day and night. I don't understand why I don't have cooler night temperatures.

Intermediate orchids don't like it. I've lost all my Oncidiums except a few in poor shape and a healthy O. sphacelatum. Unless I figure out how to provide cooler summer nights, I'm done with them. Tolumnias and one Trichocentrum are fine. Things in bark would like watering every other day, but I don't have time to water that often. My Phals and Catts have wrinkled leaves much of the time. Most Dendrobiums, Vandas and Cymbidiums are fine. I only have warm-growing species and hybrids of these.

Cyrtopodium outside has been OK in temperatures up to 118 F / 48C. It gets late afternoon sun. It doesn't look great, and has not tried growing.
