Books on GH design?
Default Books on GH design?

I currently have a small 4x9' GH, a Santa Barbara GH kit, with home-built infrastructure. In the next 10 years or so, I plan on having a larger one built (~20x40/60') in southern to central California. I am looking for a book, or books, that deal with pro-level (botanical garden) GH design and options. E.g., pros-cons of aluminum vs. steel vs wood structure, approaches for redundant heating, things to consider with 1000 psi misters, current automated environmental controllers etc. Obviously, I want to grow orchids, ideally with different zones for some cool, mostly intermediate, and some warm types.

The point is to understand enough to have a sensible discussion with a GH designer/builder/installer. I have no intention to build it myself. It's not going to be cheap, and I am willing to invest a bit.

Hanan's "Greenhouses: Advanced Technology for Protected Horticulture" looks interesting, but is from 1997, so about 15 years old.
Solid coffee-table books with pictures of various cool designs may also be helpful to spark the imagination.

Any recommendations?

Hi David,

thanks for the two links. Saw them on amazon, but wondered whether they were too basic. Seems like you don't think so. Good to know!
