Default How to increase PH

I am using RO water with a ph of 6.5. After adding fertilizer and a ca mg additive my ph drops to 4 - 4.5. Does anyone have any recommendations on what and how much per gallon to increase the ph back to 6.5?

Thanks dub

Hydroponic stores or better garden centers have a product called PH Up. A few drops will raise the PH.

Pro-Tekt also works.

You might consider using a fertilizer specifically designed for pure water. That way you can mix it and forget it.

The MSU RO formula is a good one, and there are others.

Ray I have read that after using the MSU RO formula in RO water that the PH drops to 4.5 Is this true and if so are you saying the PH doesn't need to be adjusted to 6.5? If that is the case I am probably OK at 4.5. The fertilizer I'm using is Better-Gro Orchid Plus 20-14-13 with no urea. I then add a Ca/Mg supplement. I will most likely switch to the MSU brand later but I hate to throw stuff away.

The MSU formulation is designed to provide something in the neighborhood of 5.5-6.5 pH. They also add citric acid to the formulation to help solubility, but in 10 (?) years of use, I've never seen the pH dip as low as 4.5.

I suppose - knowing how heterogeneous the mix is - that a sample could be pulled that would result in a solution with a pH that low, but that tells me the user isn't doing things right.
