Default Shade House Build

Here is my shade house build, I'll add photo's etc as I progress. Happy to give measurements and material details but it'll be in metric! Feel free to interject at any time with questions.

My inspiration is the vanda shade house as posted by "Got Ants" a long while ago.

Enjoy

The floor space is 6 metres by 4 metres.

The post holes are 600mm deep and 3 of.

CCA treated timber has been ordered.

Chronology of Photo's.........Read through the thread to get details...........

Timber has arrived. All CCA treated, sleepers to form the uprights are (in mm) 3000x200x50 and for the topside 140x45x6000. Sleepers will be bolted in pairs so uprights will measure 200x100 on the cross section. Was going to try 150x150 square posts but at this size CCA treatment may not be effective. CCA is copper, chromium and arsenic by the way.

Waiting on the weather man to tell me if I can make a start this week. A cyclone (hurricane for you boys and girls north of the equator) is expected to form. Fingers crossed for fine weather.

You must get gargantuan tornadoes then!

My wet weather plan for tomorrow is drilling the sleepers and bolting the uprights. Mmmm opportunity to purchase new power tools!

Shade house sounds like a very nice idea. Where I'm from it would quickly become a wasp and spider house though. A tall ceiling would be a good idea to keep a safe distance between them and me.

Can't wait to see how yours progresses
