Hi, glad you found some inspiration from my design!
1) It's all pretty concealed so I've included photo's of the hardware used instead. The u-clips and tek screws obviously hold the mesh in place and screw directly into the timber. Loop in through the edge of the mesh first then screw into place. The green plates are simply hammered into place AFTER you have pulled the shade cloth into position and over the top of the mesh. Hammer one end in loosely and then gradually stretch into place fastening as you go.
2) Long side is North South, and the open side is east west (all -plants get full morning sun and some late afternoon sun) About 60% or 66% shade cloth from memory. Don't forget with open sides you get a large amount of indirect light. The higher shadecloth really only prevents midday burn.
3) 600 millimetres deep. Also not only are they cemented into place, I ensured the cement sits higher than surrounding ground to prevent water from pooling in the post holes so as to prevent rot.
4) It was a cabots stain, walnut? I used a spray gun.
5) Yes, aesthetics only. It's 6 metres in total length, I cut off the side beams by about 150mm - 200mm.
6) Great, no issues, the only thing i would change is the flooring, instead of gravel floor I would just cement it completely. Once weeds get established painful to remove all the time. I still may do this.
Good Luck!!
