This orchid is on the lemon tree of my mother's house for years. Unfortunately many seedlings were removed, if not certainly the bloom would be much more abundant. There are over 30 flower stalks this year. Maybe next year...

Interesting to note that this flower Miltonia presents two types of coloration on the same stalk, white and yellow.

Thanks Norma, but I have a normal collection. Most of my plants are native from my region... I think the same, the orchids from the users from other countries are awesome for me, and impossible for me to have one...

I just read that you are taking some of these orchid from the protected forest. That is not Ok in the orchid world. The idea is to protect them and their habitats, not rob them for personal gain.

Sorry, but you are wrong. Just collect orchids when the tree is where it is fallen, usually by natural events. I know that for many people in North America and Europe think of us as inferior beings, but no. We are monitored by the government and the police, and especially we are conscious. Never withdraw anything that will disrupt the ecosystem, we take only what is fallen and will probably die. And much of the plant left in place even fallen, so there is some hope for growth. Ask before you judge, ok?

And "not rob them for personal gain" is a little hard, ok? You are not better than anyone here to say these kind of thing to a person that you don't know.

Actually, I am married to a Brazilian, lived in Brazil and Studied for a BSc in geography. I have also written a few papers about Brazilian forests. So I do know what I am talking about. I am also very aware of what monitoring happens, or lack there of. I love Brazil and would like to see the ecosystems be able to grow and survive. Whether or not you believe your collecting is ok, you have no idea the harm that can be caused by those removals. As many people have shown those fallen orchids can survive, and perform a service to it's ecosystem. Even dead they perform a service to the ecosystem. What you are doing is not legal. Period.

Ok, I'll not discuss here. It's not the place for that.

You have your side of this history and I have mine. You don't know anything about what I'm doing. As you said, you have knowledge, bu I have mine. I do this kind of collect, AND ONLY THIS TYPE OF COLLECT, to generate new seedlings and seeds to insert them back into their environment. Just this. I'm not stealing or grabbing for my interest, I'm trying to help to save the left of the Atlantic Forest in my region. But I forgot! You lived here and knows everything, no? Do this: arrest me for doing this and other kind of work that try to make native forest to survive a little longer.

It's easy to judge when you don't know the facts. Go read your geography books while I will continue to live the reality of a world that is destroying everything. At least, I'm trying to help here.

Final period.
