I did think Highland Fling was a relatively large flowered Masdi like this one (maybe a little smaller) from when I saw one at a show. However the way genetics works you could find in one seedling the smaller characteristic from the other parent comes out more, and in another seedling more comes out from the veitchianna. One of the variabilities of hybrid seedlings

Ya, I know but since one parent is veitchiana and the other is half that again, you gotta wonder. I just measured my bloom and it is only just over half the width of what OrchidWiz says Highland Fling should be for an average spread. I'll love it for what it is-whatever that is
