Thumbs up Big Boys Tinker Toys

Been looking for things to build. I'm driven to build things.
OOOO found some big boys tinker toys!!!

Structures - Kee Klamp Photo Gallery - Simplified Building
A portable/permanent shadehouse structure. For my numbers Im coming up with around 700 bucks for a combo work bench shade house. Wood is okey but aluminum is for life. I really like the ideas they have. I can make plant racks, I can build work benches, I can build a shadehouse and all I need is an allen wrench

I Im going to to replace my prototype work bench plant rack shade house and make more room out of no room at all.

The bench will be much the same cept it will be 1" aluminum tubing. Its not heavy enough to be called pipe but it is schedule 40 tubing, hmmmm.

You see here how I got this thing done..Its not pretty but it works like a champ..The cloth keeps my temps down about 10 to 15 degrees during the hottest part of the day. The masonry/fake wood wallboard puts out a lot of reflective heat. Took me some time to figure out how the back of my plants were wilting. Heat from the back wall. Shade cloth took care of that too.

You can see where Im headed with the cloth overhead and the bench/rack. This is the early AM sunshine..You can only guess what its like afternoons. It will travel all the way across the bench and be done about 3 pm, then Im safe from the burning. Cloth doesnt look like its doing much bec I bet ya Im pushin 2500+ FC on everything. Die or GROW!!!

Waiting for the Home Owners Assses to tell me to take it down. then ill drop it down where they cant see it and tell em to kiss my gritz. They are giving me grief bec I complain about the dog crap everywhere and there only comeback is to tell me my mini blinds arent Homeowner approved.

Not fortunate enough just to go do it so I have to make plans for these things ya know. I did splurg some on puttin the wood deck down. I cant stand tile or concrete on my feet and I dont like to wear shoes.

Wonderful! and look forward to seeing what you do build when you decide to.
I'm useless at building anything... luckily I have another half who'se a 'Mcgyver' ... but he refuses to do anything like a green house etc as we live in a rented house...always says when we live in our own house....

The HOA made my neighbor take down a lattice he had put up but he had it hanging over the rails. Im enclosed and all you can see is the cloth and you can barely see that. BUT I saw her snoopin around my back fence the other day. Checking to see if my blinds had been replaced from the REAL Bali wood blinds to Home owner approved, cheap white walmart, made in panama plastic.

Looked at a lot of things and I felt I really needed something I can take with me or move around. The bench works great but I cant move it ..Its just too heavy.

Im going to build a few small items 1st like a plant shelf and a rack space for a light fixture. get rid of them bakers racks I cant stand. See how I like them. How to install the racks across the rails somehow. I needed sometin to do beside spend my money on plants. I need to build them a home so I can have more of them

But thanks Ill keep you updated. going to take some time off end of june so we gettting ready to have a monster build!!!

I will never live in a place that has HOA. I don't want any snooping nosey neighbor telling me what I can and can't build on my land.

Kiss my patootie!
