You will love it! I am attaching pictures of my arbor by the pond where my orchids spend the summer. It is my favourite spot in the world.

I put 2 swings on the front which hold approx 25 of my cymbidiums, they like the full sun all day. I have 2 shelves built on the side as well, the shelves and the swings are framed by 2x4s, the bottom is strong steel mesh which I have spray painted to prevent rust, so that the water can run out freely. I have also a few metal shelves inside. I purchased these funny hangable baskets at the dollar store which I can feed through the lattice and they hold individual plants....see attached picture. I put 2 or 3 hooks in the roof to hang a wire basket and from that wire basket I hang 8 - 10 stanhopeas....vandas...etc...I will try to find a picture that demonstrates this.

I planted wisteria and some morning glorys initially for some shade....the morning glorys have taken over...I wouldn't recommend unless you can keep on top of it. Keeps re seeding...and re seeding.

Gives you a few more ideas maybe. Looks awesome, you and your plants will enjoy immensely, can hardly wait to get mine set up again for the summer.

Wow, that's awsome, Carol. Redlands Orchid Festival is in two weeks. I hope you get a chance to go and pick up some new plants for your wonderful shade house. You should think about putting a chair in there also. I love to sit and look at my orchids while I'm drinking my morning coffee.
