Hold on to it! .. They seem to be very hardy .. I bet all it needs is a place it can call it's own. Once it's settled, I am sure it will take off!

A quick question, in regards to vanilla of which I can't find easily here or on the net.
What size pot should be used? I have a cutting 40cm long, without much roots, do i pot it in a small pot or a larger pot? I could pot it comfortably in a 100mm pot but have it in a 25cm pot, is this bad, I used the larger to stablise the stake
Also the mix seems to vary from the pix I see posted?
I have mine in garden pot mix 30%, 30% perlite and rest coir and bark would this mix be suitable?
Thank you

Hi !
i think it is for cuttings better when they are potted in smaller as in bigger pot's,because the roots of Vanillacuttings are not so durable how the roots of Mature Vanillas. The Substrate can better dry in little as in great pot's.If your Vanilla will be 2-3 Feet long ,is it better to pot it in bigger pot's because you will have very much roots.
Happy Growing !
