That is the issue we are having

The "on-demand" doesn't put out enough volume for the misting system....therefore, the tank.

It works just fine for watering from a hose etc.
And I LOVE that aspect of it to have the water anytime and it keeps coming.

So we are trying to get the best of both. We may have to just bag the Merlin and do a standard r/o-tank etc.
I will let you know what we figure out. My hubby is the technical guy. He has an idea of adding another pressure pump to the circuit etc. I try to learn but often it's like greek to me

I built my own RO system.

I have a pump that boosts the feed (tap) water to 100 psi before it goes to the RO membranes. The RO water then goes into a several gallon pressure tank. A pressure switch opens the feed water valve and starts the feed water booster pump to start RO water production when pressure in the tank drops below 30 psi and then stops RO production when the tank reaches 60 psi. When this tank is at 30 psi I get 4-5 gallons per hour across each of a pair of DOW Filmtec residential membranes (TW30-1812-75).

I have a second booster pump that takes RO water from the first (low pressure) pressure tank and boosts it to 100 psi into a 2nd (high pressure) pressure tank.

For watering, I use a hand sprayer wand:
Solo 28in. Universal Wand Assembly, Model# 4900170N | Spray Guns | Northern Tool + Equipment
The wand is connected to the RO system. I have a 3-way ball valve so that I can select either the low pressure or high pressure RO tank. I use the high pressure tank when I mist for extra humidity and the low pressure tank when I am watering. I have another 3-way ball valve so that I can also put the water through a Dosmatic dosing pump to add fertilizer solution before it goes to the wand.

For overhead mist/humidification I feed RO water to a 1000 psi pump to get an extremely fine mist/fog. I don't use an evaporative cooler so this fog system provides my humidification and evaporative cooling.

When we were moving into the gh I was not sure I would even keep the stand but when I decided to my hubby wanted it in tip top shape
So we measured the length, ordered and installed a new similar style light on the bottom tier. It is a better light for orchids (T5 I think)
Ironically, I don't need the light though. Most of the other gh areas have sooo much light, that I have reserved this area for "shade".
So I just wrapped up the cord
Felt good though to "keep" the old table!
I saw that wooden unit in a catalog and like the idea a lot. It seemed that the distance between the lights and the bottom shelf was too small, so I had a friend make it for me with the shelves further apart. I bought the drip trays and he basically built around it. I used 3 T5 strip lights daisy chained together and it has been working well for me for 2 years.
Of course I filled it up before it was even finished!

David,

Thank you very much! I have copied your post to my husband if you don't mind. I will keep everyone posted to how it works out.

That looks great D. Watch out you don't sunburn your plants. Looks real bright!
