Default Some updated photos of the GH/SH

Most of y'all know that I grow in a shadehouse that gets converted to a GH in the winter with Visqueen plastic.

Here are a few pics of the chids enjoying the last bit of cool weather before the plastic comes off and they go outside.

These are just iPhone pics and it was evening time so sorry for the blurs.

A general comment/suggestion: taller pots.

Not sure what you mean Ray. Most of the pics here are showing seedlings or small rupicolous types and the pots were chosen directly related to plant and root size. In my setup I have found that I overpotted in the past so I tend to err on the side of smaller.

Would you please clarify?

You can't really overpot in semi-hydroponics, due to the nature of the medium.

With traditional media, overpotting often results in drying at the perimeter, but the retention of a soppy center - right where most of the roots are - that decomposes faster and suffocates the roots. With LECA, the overall airiness and ability to wick moisture prevents that from occurring, and you have a far more uniform set of conditions throughout the pot.

I was mostly concerned about the minimal depth of medium above the reservoir, and whether that allowed enough room for the root system at the time of potting.
