Default un-robe-ing the gh for summer

hi, just a note of my greenhouse maintainence as it is spring and time for major changes...i am in north carolina, and as it is heavy spring here, i am taking off the pool cover and putting on the summer shade cloth of 70%....also taking out all the non-orchid plants for the season....i might have to run em back a nite or two but i think i am safe....its time for a dose of epsom salts with the fert this week, and monthly spraying of bonide systemic....that will carry me thru for a bit, i will spray with insecticidal soap in two weeks, and in another 2 months treat with a copper based spray for prevention of bacterial infections.....(i spray 3-4 times a year for this)that should carry my 'house thru till mid summer when i return from my travels....gl all!!

Not quite ready here to take the Visqueen off of the shadehouse. Probably by next week. We are still getting a few nights in the lower 50s.

We usually split the Visqueen open and tack it up when it is warmer and then tack it back down when the temps drop.

I've already cleaned a little but a good scrubbing and spraying is in my future.
