Hi Joshua,
I just have the shade house. Another cold front is moving through so it's empty right now, but the house is full. This latest front is supposed to be a short one lasting about 3 days with one night of comfortable temperatures in between. I'm going to wait till the whole thing blows over before I put the plants back out, because there's too much work involved taking them in and out.

i have been gone on my 3 month foray out west, and missed my gh terribly....mom watches it for me while i am gone, and this time she said she thought every plant in it bloomed while i was gone, lol....unfortunately, mom is camera shy, and doesnt know how to photo all the beauties....but, on arriving home yesterday, the greenhouse looks great, still full of blossoms, and a few little patches of aphids on mostly the epidendrum flower heads....i treated the entire gh to a dose of bonide systemic and discovered many buds on the way....i think they plants love mom! it is still getting watered approx every 4 days, and a nightime temp of 50 degrees... the pool cover stayed on good this winter, didnt blow around too much, and seems to be helping with the propane bill....all in all, it is having a good winter thus far....hope everyone else is having a good winter too....

My shade house is completely covered in plastic for the cold. The front section has roll up and down shades., so I can adjust. Still on really cold nights in the low 30's, certain ones come indoors there no way to get around it and still function in the 90's come summer. Even covered in plastic when it hit 26, I had some catt. damage that will have to be trimmed off, turned completely black. Our commerical greenhouses all have air and heat, just can't have that at home. I have lights to use and they raise the temp about three degrees.

Well there's lots going on.... just not very fast! Lots of Phals in spike but easily a month or more before they really start to open. The Paphs are coming along nicely and the Cymbidiums on both sides under the benches are almost done. My Catts haven't measured up to my expectations...
Wish I had someone to take care of things when I go away... Anyway, I love threads like this because not only do I get to show off but enjoy what everyone else is doing. I hope some of you that don't have greenhouses and grow your chids under lights or on windowsills or wherever will join in and show us your STUFF!
