greenhouse floor

I would like to clean my greenhouse pressure treated wood floor with chlorine bleach but I want to be sure that it will be safe for my orchids 1st. If it would be harmful to them, could you please suggest a different product?

We use it to clean our open backporch, but I have no orchids there.

I would appreciate your advice...

I think it would be fine as long as it doesn't touch the plants, and you can open all the vents to get the fumes out. I'm not an expert, but I don't see what it could do, as long as it's diluted?

Yeah I would agree, don't touch the plants and make sure the fumes can get out. Should be no problems.

Actually, chlorine bleach can be safely used as a greenhouse disinfectant on plants at a one ounce per gallon rate.

If you use a stronger solution for the floor, and are concerned about splashes onto the plants, just be sure to rinse the plants with plain water soon thereafter.

Thank you, Ray. I was most concerned that the fumes would be a problem, but you, Bolero and Tim have cleared it up for me. Thanks again...and also for the disenfectant tip.
