Yep, that's typically French about the building permit... glad you did not end up in front of a stubborn city officer or stupid neighbor (there are lots) !
Thanks for the info on the Plexiglass !
I can't wait to see this GH finished and filled up with plants !

The metallic frame for the basis, just waiting its turn to be fixed on the foundation...

Next steps: insulate with Styrodur, installing water and electricity supplies, evening the ground in and outside of the GH, building the GH... let's see, when the work can be re-started again....

not really... I will collect it for very very very sensible plants, but for the other I will use tap water... the water in Mulhouse is extremely good (the best in whole France!) and same quality as bottled Evian or Volvic.. minimal content of disolved minerals... The goverment of Mulhouse has bought a very large forest reserve, where the water comes from, and this region is protected... Iwas really surprised to know that, as normally water in France is not exactly "la crème de la crème" (except when bottled.... e.g. Perrier & Co )
Funnily, if you go to any of the towns around here, the water is extremely hard with a very high content of calcium carbonate...
on the other hand, it does not rain that much in Alsace... therefore, only rain water from the roof would not be enough for all the plants..

Starting to add the insulation (Styrodur)... pipelines for water and electricity also installed..

We have bought too much Styrodur (little calculation mistake , we ended up with 3 times more than needed!)... so, we decided to add a double layer of Styrodur.... yes, actually more than really needed!

My DH hurt his back digging the foundation trench for ours. He is feeling much better. Hope you are soon recovered too, so you can fill the new GH with orchids! Carol
