swamp cooler

Has anyone used a portable swamp cool/Evaporative cooling system.I was woundering if one of these would work in a humid climate like nebraska. Here something of the sort ,link NEW Portable Mobile Evaporative Swamp Air Cooler Fan - eBay (item 190384898134 end time Aug-26-10 14:20:59 PDT)
I know people use evaporative systems in the backs of there greenhouses but would it cool it right or just put even more humidity in the air.
