Default Purchasing Used Greenhouse Questions?

Hi! I have found a local listing on Craigslist for a commercial greenhouse 20 x 30. I've been looking into greenhouses, but I just moved and wasn't planning on getting one until a year or two down the road, but I stumbled upon this one and I'd hate to loose out on a good deal. The listing is pretty non descriptive and I'm not sure what questions I should be asking. Can anyone help me? Here is the link Commercial Greenhouse.

I did send an inquiry asking about what material it is made of, age, and if the gas furnace is vented or non-vented. I just moved houses (upgraded house size and property size) and my brain is fried and I'm not sure what else I should be asking! TIA!

You have asked good questions to start.
Is it one of the double wall poly ones that are inflated. If so they are easier to move, less structure to disassemble. Also how tall? and pictures would help you access condition.

Yes pictures would be great. I don't know why I didn't think to ask for them. I'm still waiting a response to my first inquiry so I don't know that material yet. Since our winters are cold here I would like something that is super insulated. Since they are local I am hoping so! Also talking to my hubby, we were pondering how to move it as well!

well the transport and rebuilding are something to consider....whatever the covering, its bound to have aged...you need to find out how old it is....compare the price to a new one too....check out farmteks catalog....and find out how old the equipment is and how long its been sitting unused....sometimes sitting around ruins things, rust etc...sounds like a nice size tho....gl

Purchasing Used Greenhouse Questions? Male

I see the Craigslist posting has been removed.

Becca - be sure you inquire about the cost to heat it. My collection is housed in a 14' x 18' greenhouse, and I'm in southeast PA - both of which make it cheaper to heat than a 20' x 30' in Boise! - and it still costs me about $2000 to heat it for a winter.

$2000.00? Ouch! How do you heat your greenhouse again? I really think you have colder winters then we do here in Boise but still! I know several people in our local orchid society here who have greenhouses year round and I've talked to them before and they said heating there greehouses have been fairly inexpensive...they didn't give me an exact number, but I asked them if it was under 200 a month and they said well under that!

I never got a response from the seller of the used greenhouse in this thread.
