I decided to try some ladybugs for an aphid problem that was resistant to other insecticidal remedies that I have tried. It has been two weeks and no sign of aphids! the ladybugs seemed to congregate around the plants with the worst problems. I'm going to continue releasing ladybugs For the next few weeks ro make sure that the aphids are all gone.
Good idea, but please make sure that you use native lady bugs, and not the asian ones. The asian ones are taking over everywhere they are introduced, outcompeting and eating the native ladybugs.
There also exist predatory or parasitical wasps which work just as well.

If you do not provide a nesting box for the ladybugs they will find their own in nature, the problem is it usually not located in you yard or garden. New blog 2 yr research reveals new findings: Lady bugs need a home!: Lady bugs need a home!
