I second the gravel over the bark floor. In a g/h environment it will compost and become mud :>)

The gravel will help with the humidity also. In the winter, sometimes too much.

Well it looks like gravel is the way I will be going. Four days to go before the GH arrives
My neighbor came over today and helped me dig the trench. It wasn't easy cause the ground was kinda frozen.. Now with the trench dug I should have ordered the larger GH but for now it will do.

to follow tomorrow

Thanks everyone for you interest and comments

Sheridan

Thanks for the link utah. I will definitely be getting one for the GH. The weather will be turning colder and as you say, I'll sleep better. SO This will be my Christmas present to myself and my babies. Thanks again. betty

We are getting close... What a job even though its a small GH the trench finally got dug. The ground was frozen yesterday and it was so cold my feet froze...

Here are the as promised.

Sheridan, I am trying to understand how this goes together. Does the ridge run right angles from the shed? In other words, will you endter the GH from the shed? I think you said you will walk through it. Guess I'll just have to wait for the structure to be assembled. I'm happy for you.

Here is a of the Solar Gem GH its not the prettiest on the block but its mine or soon will be

It comes with one storm door and a window on the opposite end but I requested another storm door so guest could walk thru it since it is taking up most of the walkway.

That'll be great in August when it gets unholy hot there and you need more venting! Great choice.

No problem. I had to look high and low to find one that would fit the bill for me with temperature, humidity, alarms, and no wiring so if I can save anyone else the hassle . . . my pleasure.
