Things are looking good Sheridan! Hey! I have the exact same Den. It bloomed in Dec. and lasted for months. Now it's spiking again from the same cane. Too bad it's so huge. I think it's one of the ones I'm going to have to edit from the collection.

Terri, Did you get yours from Carmela's? You said yours is reblooming from the same spike so I shouldn't cut the spike after it gets done blooming? I couldn't believe the size of this chid when it arrived and the price I paid for it $15.00 amazing.

Hi Kate, thanks for your comments on my GH and orchids. The little white shelf that I have hanging in the GH is just a metal rubber covered shelf that one would use in a pantry and I got it at Good Will. You can find neat items for other uses. You can also find them at Wal-mart etc...

Oh I certainly do love my job!

I'd love to meet up with you and some fellow OB members at the Portland Orchid Show next year! But is it always during Mother's Day weekend? That might be a problem, but if I'm still working at the nursery next year they'd probably let me go for a day if I let them know soon enough.

Sheridan, my Den is blooming off the same cane not the same spike. So far I have only gotten 1 inflorescence per cane. This is something new it's done this year.

I agree the Portland Show would be fun. I won't be able to make it this year. Maybe next year.

Terri, do you know if the Portland show is always on Mother's Day weekend? I would just hate to abandon my amazing boss on her busiest day of the year. I work at a small nursery and I'm one of only 3 or sometimes 4 people who work there. It can be total chaos even with everyone there to help out.

Of course, by next year, I might be doing something else, so it may not matter.

I've never been to the Portland show Evan so I really don't know if it's always on Mother's Day. You could shoot them an email and ask. I'm kind of curious about the logic behind that scheduling myself.

Terri, you are curious about that logic? Okay you go to the orchid show, you buy mum an orchid for Mother's Day. If you are a mum and nobody gets you one, you buy two, or maybe more.
