Some photos of my growing area
Some of the OBoaders friends have been asking for some photos of my growing area and I finally had time to put them together. They are all in my Gallery.
Some of the photos were taken in the winter, when my area works like a greenhouse, completely enclosed, and some were taken a few days ago with the area realeased from the side covers.
Some could ask... but where are the flowers? Well, the flowers I keep on a separate bench when they bloom, that's why they're not seen anywhere !
Here's a link for the first photo:

Thanks for sharing. Where in Brazil are you located? How cold does it get during winter that you need to enclose your growing area?

For reference, my growing are is located exactly 'under' the tropic of Capricorn at 940 meters above the sea level, more or less 100 miles away from the Atlantic Ocean.
Cold waves coming from the South Pole hit the region during the winter making the temperatures drop as down as 38ºF during the night, especially in the dawn. In such conditions, winds are chilling.
But, things have been changing fast... the last two winters were sensibly warmer than before.

Wow Mauro those pictures of your grow area are just amazing, as are all of your pictures! I have a couple of questions for you though. First, how much time do you spend tending to the orchids, such as watering? Next, how do you water them? Do you just soak them with a hose? And last, how do you go about watering such a large orchid collection, do you divide the days up for which section gets watered? I wouldn't know where to begin, and I thought I struggled with the 75 orchids I have in my collection....lol.

You have a great growing space! I had tried to imagine what your greenhouse looked like (basically huge and full of orchids) and it's even better than I imagined. I really like how there are pots hanging absolutely everywhere, it looks really neat!
Thanks for sharing the pics!

Thanks very much for that great information! I didn't know that the cold polar winds made it that far North.
