Redwood Lattice for roof of our orchid house?

Aloha,

Our open-air Hawaiian orchid house is progressing. We have reached the moment of installing the roof. We will be using lattice for filtered light and a structure to hang many, many vandas.

Is there any reason to not use redwood lattice? Want to make sure that rainwater running through the lattice won't harm the orchids.

As a child, I had redwood poisoning from large chunks of redwood that were embedded in my foot after climbing over a fence.

I would prefer to not have my orchids similarly harmed from redwood.

I don't think it's a problem. In the prehistoric days greenhouses and orchid baskets were made of redwood.

I’ve never heard of any leeching or tannins coming from redwood
