Greenhouse shade paint advice needed
I’m hoping someone could advise on shading for my new greenhouse. I understand that many growers recommend aluminet 50% shade cloth which I’m having trouble finding at a reasonable price in the UK, I can only get 75% which I think would be too much shade. I’ve been looking at the white paint you can apply to the glass and wondering if anyone has any experience using it? The fact it becomes more transparent in wet weather seems like a plus in my climate and I would guess the white colour might have some cooking effect. My other option would be the green or black shade cloth but I would be concerned the space would get too hot. Any help would be much appreciated!

I've used shade paint. It gradually wears off, by winter it's mostly gone. We quit using it because our greenhouse was pretty tall and we had a hard time rolling it on. In my opinion, I liked it. Nothing blowing off or hanging down. I got it from my wholesaler but, I'm sure you can get it online.

A friend in the UK has this on their growing space. I've sent an email to ask where they got theirs from.

A double check... you did say that was on poly panels, right?

Mine was on 5 year UV poly. I've seen it used on panels as well. Worked fine.

I asked my friend in the UK about the aluminet cloth he has on his grow space. He said he got his via ebay from a UK supplier, he checked and the UK supplier is gone. The only source he could find on ebay was China.
Sorry.
Only place I saw any of the cloth was amazon uk.

This company sells pre-cut pieces for shading animals and automobiles, but maybe they can help you:
