I think you misunderstood. Shade paint goes on the poly/glass part of the greenhouse to reflect/diffuse sunlight. It is generally white. You paint your house/garage/shed/barn different colors because you like them (although your neighbors might not).
My neighborhood was full of mid-century modern style houses set in desert landscapes. Almost all have been torn down to be replaced by enormous, ugly jumbles of square boxes, painted grey and black, with lawns and white roses. I'm going to start painting my house highly saturated bright tropical colors.

Oh sure have! In this neck of the woods, purple is a common color amongst those who are KSU fans. Manhattan is an hour due west of here. Although many like to do the darker purple, with lighter purple and white trims. I love your house color Dolly! Interestingly enough, my old dear friend Sondra's house was painted almost exactly the same color.
