There were three plants that produced them, all somewhat different. They were all rescues from the grocery store, and had no names. One plant finished blooming and promptly died. No idea why.

2 comments MamaLiberty Fri, 09 Jan 2015 11:30:21 -0800 Phalaenopsis, white http://www.orchidboard.com/community/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=32655&title=phalaenopsis-2c-white&cat=1745 <a href="http://www.orchidboard.com/community/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=32655&title=phalaenopsis-2c-white&cat=1745"=>=<img= title="pal-white2.png" border="0" src="http://www.orchidboard.com/community/gallery/data/1745/thumbs/pal-white2.png" alt="pal-white2.png" />

by: MamaLiberty

Description: This was one of my very first orchids and is pretty close to 30 years old. It has consistently bloomed once a year, but only a few flowers at a time. The lower stem/roots got very long and dry looking, and the plant top was haning off the side of the pot, so I cut off the worst of it and repotted the green top and left about half the healthy roots running around to suit themselves. It already has new leaves forming and looks good, so I guess I lucked out. MamaLiberty Fri, 09 Jan 2015 11:30:21 -0800 Part of my collection. http://www.orchidboard.com/community/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=32656&title=part-of-my-collection-&cat=1745 <a href="http://www.orchidboard.com/community/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=32656&title=part-of-my-collection-&cat=1745"=>=<img= title="solarium2014.png" border="0" src="http://www.orchidboard.com/community/gallery/data/1745/thumbs/solarium2014.png" alt="solarium2014.png" />

by: MamaLiberty

Description: I'm not really much of a photographer, but I think the colors come through fairly well in these. Orchids and other plants are grown in a bathroom with South and West windows that allow a great deal of light in all day. The temperature is kept around 60 degrees, and I try to maintain the humidity around 60 %. When it falls below that, I set out tubs of water and do some misting. Each time it blooms, the old plant eventually dies and a new one comes from the base. This year, the new growth is about 1/4 mature and the old plant is still very nice looking.
